This policy explains what the FastHer app (Android) and the fasther.com website do with your information. The short version: FastHer has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and your fasting and health data stays on your phone unless you choose to back it up to your own Google Drive. We never sell your data.
What the app stores on your phone
Everything you enter or earn in FastHer is stored only on your phone:
- Your fasts, plans, goals, streaks and reminders.
- Your Log: food, snacks and water you tap in, with any notes and photos you add.
- Body measurements you enter (weight, body fat, lean mass, glucose, ketones and similar).
- Steps: counted by your phone, typed in, or read from Health Connect.
- Your Helpers, trinkets, points, missions and settings.
We don’t run a server for the app and we don’t receive any of this. Deleting the app, or Settings › Your data › Reset all data, removes it from your phone. Android’s own cloud backup is turned off for FastHer, so it is not copied to Google’s device backup either.
Permissions and what they’re for
- Notifications: to tell you when your fast goal is reached, when your feeding window is closing and when a new Helper joins you.
- Alarms & reminders: so those alerts arrive on time.
- Physical activity: to count your steps. Steps are counted by your phone’s step sensor and by Google Play services on the phone (Google’s on-device Recording API), so they keep counting while FastHer is closed. FastHer reads hourly totals; nothing is sent to us.
- Health Connect (optional, read-only): if you turn on Settings › Health apps, FastHer reads weight, body fat, lean mass, resting heart rate, blood glucose and steps, so readings from your scale, watch or health app appear in your logs. FastHer never writes to Health Connect.
- Internet: only for the optional Google Drive backup, Google Play purchases, and links you open.
FastHer’s use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Health data is used only to show your own information back to you in the app. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared, except into your own Google Drive backup if you turn that on.
Google Drive backup (optional)
If you sign in with Google in Settings › Backup & sync, FastHer saves a backup file of your app data in a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, so you can restore it on a new phone. FastHer asks Google only for access to its own app folder and your email address (to show which account is connected). It cannot see any other files in your Drive. You can stop backups by signing out in the app, and delete the backup in Google Drive under Settings › Manage apps.
Purchases
FastHer Plus and point packs are sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment; FastHer receives only a purchase confirmation so it can unlock Plus or add your points. We never see your card or payment details. Google’s privacy policy applies to the payment.
Invites and sharing
Invite codes are made on your phone. When a friend installs FastHer from your invite link, Google Play passes the invite code to the app on her phone, and she sends you a thank-you code to enter. When you share FastHer, Android’s share sheet sends the text to the app you pick. No contact lists are read and nothing goes through our servers.
The fasther.com website
The website is hosted with WordPress. Like most websites, the hosting servers keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser and pages visited) for security and reliability, and WordPress or its Jetpack tools may set cookies needed for the site to work. If you send us a message through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message and use them only to reply.
Who FastHer is for
FastHer is a habit tracker for adults. It is not intended for children, and it is not medical advice. Please talk to a doctor before fasting if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, under 18, diabetic or have a history of disordered eating.
Your choices and rights
- See or export your data any time: Settings › Your data › Export.
- Delete it: Settings › Your data › Reset all data, or uninstall the app. Delete your Drive backup in Google Drive.
- Turn off Health Connect access, Physical activity or notifications at any time in Android settings or in FastHer.
Because we don’t hold your app data, we can’t see, change or delete it for you; it is on your phone and in your own Drive. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights (for example under the GDPR or CCPA); contact us and we’ll help.
Changes and contact
